P Govinda Pillai (Parameswaran Pillai Govinda Pillai), also known as PG, is a rare intellectual amongst the journalists of Kerala. Political observer, Parliamentarian, author, orator, linguist, media critic, and philosopher - he is first and foremost a communist who profoundly assimilates and promulgates proletarian theory and above all lives it. He is highly enterprising and relentlessly industrious. Born to Parameswaran Pillai and Parukutty Amma in a middle class family of Pulluvazhi, near Perumbavoor, Ernakulam district, he mastered almost all subjects ranging from astrophysics to spirituality.
തിരുവനന്തപുരം: വിജ്ഞാനലോകത്തിലേക്ക് മലയാളിയുടെ ജാലകമായിരുന്ന പത്രാധിപരും ഗ്രന്ഥകാരനുമായ ചിന്തകന്‍ പി. ഗോവിന്ദപ്പിള്ള (86) അന്തരിച്ചു. 2012 നവംബര്‍ 14 ന് ആസ്പത്രിയില്‍ പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ച ഗോവിന്ദപ്പിള്ള നവംബര്‍ 22 വ്യാഴാഴ്ച രാത്രി 11.15 നാണ് അന്തരിച്ചത്. ശവസംസ്‌കാരം വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച വൈകീട്ട് തൈക്കാട് ശാന്തികവാടത്തില്‍ നടന്നു. പെരുമ്പാവൂര്‍ പുല്ലുവഴിയില്‍ പരമേശ്വരന്‍ പിള്ളയുടെയും പാറുക്കുട്ടിയുടെയും മകനായി 1926 മാര്‍ച്ച് 25നാണ് ഗോവിന്ദപ്പിള്ള ജനിച്ചത്. യൗവ്വനാരംഭത്തില്‍ ആഗമാനന്ദസ്വാമികളുടെ ശിഷ്യനായി കാലടി ശങ്കരാശ്രമത്തില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ അദ്ദേഹം പോരാട്ടവഴിയിലൂടെ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റായി. പാര്‍ട്ടിയുടെ സൈദ്ധാന്തികരില്‍ പ്രമുഖനായി. പി.ജി. എന്ന ചുരുക്കപ്പേരില്‍ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിലും വൈജ്ഞാനികമണ്ഡലത്തിലും നിറഞ്ഞുനിന്നു. അടുത്തിടെ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച 'വൈജ്ഞാനിക വിപ്ലവം.....
