Nidhireekkal Manikkathanar

For Manikkathanar who was born in Nidhireekkal family in Kuravilangad in 1842, the missionary activities and foundation of Nasrani Deepika was never two entities, but one supplementing the other. When the need for mouthpiece `Jathaikyasangham’ arose, for the unity of Christian churches, the church appointed Manikkathanar who was working under CMI church, to fulfill the goal. The Nasranideepika was started from Mannanam in 1887. Then it grew as Deepika from Kottayam. The history of Deepika evolved from the life and views of Manikkathanar. Till now the paper is proceeding forward on the path guided by Manikkathanar. He passed away in 1904.
