TJS Enriches Press Academy Library

Kochi: TJS George, Editorial Advisor, The New Indian Express, donated his vast collection of books and magazines to the Kerala Press Academy, Kakkanad, on Friday.

He also interacted with the students of the academy, sharing with them his experience in journalism.  He said journalism is not a subject that could be taught in a classroom.  One has to work with the media organizations to learn the real deal, be added.

Regarding biographies, he said a person’s contribution to society had to be taken into consideration rather than the post one has held.

The books donated by TJS include copies of Time magazine dating back to 50 years, Encyclopedia Britanica year books from 1974 and collections of the American Journalism Review.

The books were handed over to M Ramachandran, director, Institute of Communication, at a function at the Press Academy.
