Sathyavrathan N N
N.N.Sathyavrathan, was born in Kumbalangi near Kochi. His father Nedungayil narayanan was a social worker. Mother is Janaki. Sathyavrathan, began his journalistic career with ’Deenabhandu’ later joined ‘Mathrubhumi’ in 1958 and was associated with the newspaper for 30 years. He retired in 1988 as New Editor Co-ordination and then joined ‘Kerala Kaumadi’ as Resident Editor.
He worked as Director of the Institute of Communication of the Kerala Press Academy for 15 years since 1993. He was a very active worker of Kerala Union of Working Journaoists and was the founder president of Ernakulam Press Club. He had worked as President and General Secretary of Kerala Union of Working Journalists and had a short stint as Treasuer of Indian Federation of Working Journalists. Had toured Bulgaria and Chekoslavakia. He was Reporter of Mathrubhumi for a long period in Kochi and his politcal reports were professionally well rated. As director of the journalism institute in Kerala Press Academy he was highly respected as a journalism academician.
