This course is specially designed to cater the media industry needs, considering the dearth of professionally trained journalists in television news industry of the State and Country as well . The curriculum of the course insists a “ Learning by doing” process and the participants of the course will get real hands on training in Television story telling including making documentaries, Digital Visual Editing , Operation of Electronic News Gathering (ENG) Camera, Story Board making and Run down management, Muti Camera Shoot etc.
At the end of the course a Participant will able to
- Join to a Television News Network as an Entry level Reporter or News Producer
- Make Documentaries
- Edit Documentaries and Short Films in Final Cut Pro
- Operate Professional Digital Television Camera

Post Graduate Diploma Course in Public Relations & Advertising (1 Year)
The aim of this course is to mould high quality professionals for Corporate Communication, Advertisement and Public Relations segments of the Media Industry.
The Curriculum of this course covers all areas related to Advertisement industry like production of Advt material, Media Planning , Buying and Selling. It also gives equal importance to Corporate Communication and Public Relation segment.

Certificate Course in Video Editing
Apart from Academic Programmes with one year duration, Institute of Communication, Kerala Media Academy also conducts specialized training programme in Non Linear Video Editing with six months duration. Since 82 % of the Films and Television programme are produced globally with Final Cut Pro Editing Mechines, We do give emphasis in hands on training in Final Cut Pro. At the end of the course , the participants willf able to work as a independent visual editor and can easily migrate to film or television industry as a Video/Film Editor.
