Promoting professional excellence among media persons from its inception in 1979, upholding ethical standards while adopting modern developments
Kerala Media Academy is an autonomous institution under the government of Kerala. Launched as Kerala Press Academy in 1979, the establishment is a joint venture between the government, Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) and the Indian Newspaper Society. The Academy has been successfully executing its mandate to promote professionalism and excellence in the media industry in the past forty years and has laid the foundation to create media persons of tomorrow.
Kerala Media Academy offers various media courses through its Institute of Communication, promotes research and development in media field through fellowship programmes, encourages journalistic spirit through awards and endowments, publishes books on media and conducts national and international level programmes every year.
